Annia Galeria Faustina (100-140), known as Faustina the Elder (Latin: Faustina Minor), was a Roman noble woman from age of five good emperors, most famous as a Roman empress and wife of Emperor Antoninus Pius. When Antonin year 138 on the basis of the will of Hadrian got the throne, Faustina had already enjoyed the reputation of one of the most respected women in Rome, emphasizing in charity work, helping orphans and establishing schools for girls. When, after a few years Faustina passed away, Antonin was inconsolable and declare her a goddess and erected a temple in her honor.
